Daybreak (1922) is an iconic painting by American artist Maxfield Parrish that became one of the most reproduced artworks of the 20th century. The composition portrays two classical female figures in an idyllic landscape at dawn. One figure, a young blonde woman, stands in a graceful pose appearing to have just risen, while another figure in light drapery reclines on a marble floor. Framed by massive ornate columns, the scene opens to a vista of majestic purple-blue mountains bathed in Parrish's signature luminous light. Flowering vines adorn the upper portion of the scene.
